About

Only Receipts is a register of sourced findings on Israel and Palestine since October 2023.

Each entry links one finding to the exact document that establishes it — organisation, title, date, and the precise place inside it: a page, a section, a paragraph. Nothing is reported "in general".

The rule this site is built on

The same standard applies to every party. Government sources from all sides are admissible and none of them is neutral: when we quote one, we mark it as a party's position — the Israeli State Comptroller and the Palestinian Ministry of Health alike. Applying a rule to one side and not the other would destroy the point of the exercise, and a reader would be right to stop reading.

What this site is not

Not a fact-checker we do not rate claims. There is no verdict field anywhere in this site, including in the markup a search engine reads
Not a news feed findings are entered when they can be sourced exactly, not when they are current
Not complete, and we never say it is a broad inventory and a complete one are different things. Only the second would be a promise we could not keep
Not a publisher of other people's text we carry the finding, the source and the location. We do not reproduce reports

Where the findings come from

From reports by organisations that do this work: United Nations bodies, human rights organisations — Israeli, Palestinian and international — medical journals, state audit bodies, and the official statements of the parties themselves.

Sources that publish in Hebrew or Arabic are admissible. Where a finding rests on one, the original sentence is carried verbatim beside the English, so the reader can check the rendering without trusting ours. Where a translation has not been read by a human, the entry says so in those words and is not published until one has.

Corrections

A published entry is never left wrong. Every month we check our sources for corrections, retractions and new versions. When one touches a published entry, the entry is corrected, the earlier version stays visible, and the change is dated and signed in the corrections log.

We would rather be told. See Contact.

Reuse

The exports — entries.json and entries.csv — are published under CC BY 4.0. Reuse by others is the point of this project, not a side effect. They carry the finding, its source and its exact location. They do not carry the sources' own text.
